i've done it before and it's really cute but i have to do it myself and hide it from my dad. should i?

If you're going to do it, I would AT LEAST get a trusted friend to do it who has even a little experience with that. If it does hurt a lot for you, chances are you're likely to do something wrong and hurt yourself. A friend won't be feeling your pain, so they have more control over the situation and won't act without thinking. Also good to have someone else there if something happens anyway, you may need help.

My sister has one. Never had a problem with it and it looks pretty cool. Problem is, if the cartilage is firm, it's gonna hurt A LOT. Her's is really soft though so it wasn't an issue.

I actually did this lol I pierced my cartilage with a needle. My parents were the same, the eventually found out, but I mean it's an ear piercing. They didn't freak out like I thought, they were just like ugh.

But after I pierced it, for some reason my body rejected it. I'm not sure if it's because I did it myself or what. I still have the piercing and if I put an earring in to this day it will get red and swollen immedietly.

My cousin did her own and it turned out badly. She had to let it close then get it done professionally. How old are you? I don't see why a parent would mind a simple cartilage piercing. But I wouldn't hide it. I'd just try to convince your parents!
