Baby question...

Instead of buy a bunch of baby beds, couldn't you just by a decked out play pen. So that way you have the raised portion for when baby is small and can fall out, and you can just take that part out when the baby learns they can sit up and stuff. So your not spending an arm and a leg just to use the beds for a month or two?... I'm not expecting or a parent I'm just honestly curious.
