Would you resent your partner if another man raped you infront of him and he couldn't stop it?

I've seen a few articles where women have been raped in front of their partners and I always have so many thoughts racing through my head whenever I read these stories. It's so sad and I feel for these women but I also feel for their partners. For me personally, if my partner couldn't stop a situation like this then I'd probably resent him and feel as though he had failed me as a man. I know that's harsh but I want someone who will protect me no matter what. How will he protect our family?

I don't know about you but my dad has always been my protector, he would literally do anything and everything to protect me and anyone in our family, even if it means jail or sacrificing his life for us so I'd expect the same from my partner. That's just me though. I'd love to know how you guys stand.
