My Little Aiden Was Born At 32 weeks 6 days. He weights 3 pounds 12 ounces. Of course he is in the nicu but I can't stop thinking about how long he will be there 😔 anybody experience this ? How long did your baby stay ?

NICU nurse here, in our unit we typically tell the parents somewhere around the due date, so 38-40 weeks gestation. This is just an estimate though and I am only a nurse, not a doctor so I can't give medical advice, only personal experience. It all depends on your baby, whether you received adequate steroids, whether the baby develops feeding intolerance (typical in preemies), and many other factors. We like to say that a baby has to do 3 major things to go home: breathe on their own, eat on their own, and hold their temperature on their own. Of course, every baby is different and the MAJORITY go home before their due date. If you ask to sit down with your Neonatologist, they will be able to give you a more accurate projection.

My baby girl was born at 34 weeks she was in the NICU for 2 weeks. Was born at 4lbs 1oz. It all depends on how well they are developing. She has been home for 2 weeks now and still gaining. Hang in there. ❤ and congrats!

When I was born I was 3 pounds 5 ounces and I stayed in there for two and a half weeks , only because my temperature would drop being taken out of the incubator .. But perfectly healthy after !! No worries Hun!!

Congrats on your handsome little man Hun *hugs* my best friend had her daughter at 35 weeks and she only weighed 3lbs even she gained weight within 3 days and was able to go home once she got to 5lbs, fingers crossed he gains his weight soon so you can take him home and love and spoil him ❤️❤️❤️❤️ im sure your more than ready for it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

He is very beautiful, he's gonna stay there until he gains weight they probably want him weighing 5-6lbs before he can go, and they will want to see how fast is he going to gain.
