Cramp like contractions.

Have any of you mommas been getting contractions that are just in the front and won't go away for hours? I'd discribed them as severe period cramps. They sometimes make it to my back, and then last a minute. I know those are real contractions.. Just want to know if anyone gets the milder ones that stick around for a bit in the front? Thank you!
