Hater or just Mad???

So, I've made comments about the baby shower that I'm giving myself in September. I hired an event planner and my budget is $2200. Apparently some moms have an issue with spending more than $200 for a shower...🤔 Well, I don't plan to serve hot dogs and chips at my shower nor am I having it in a backyard but if that's what you like or all you can afford, I'm happy for you. What I don't understand is because YOU can't afford to pay more or just won't for whatever reason, that's your business. I'm a 36 yr old business owner, far from struggling. I am 5 months pregnant with my 2nd child after 20 yrs so YES!!! I'm going all out for my baby the same way I have for my son all his life & every birthday that I have had. When you comment that spending a lot on a shower is stupid or silly, you sound like & prove you're a true hater! If I get not 1 gift at my shower(which I know for a fact won't happen)me & dad can afford that and more so don't stress yourself about other people's finances if your own aren't in order💁🏾😘

I get that you're proud and it's great that you "aren't struggling" but there was probably a better way you could have put this post, it sounds very high and mighty (e.g. it sounds like you're saying "it sucks you all can't afford what I can hehe #haterz")

I do think talking openly about the amount you're spending is a little weird though. Maybe the negative responses are less about the actual shower & more about how you're talking about your spending?

So happy that you are able to afford to have a baby shower like you are. Others can say what they want, but you have worked hard and it is your money. Spend it how you like! Who cares if others think that it is to much, or whatever it is your child and you have he right to give them the best you can! I hope your baby shower is beautiful!

It's probably more of the attitude in your posts. And talking about money to anyone other than those involved in your finances is supposedly rude behavior. But before you get offended with me, I think whatever you want to do for your shower is great, it's supposed to be a special time. Sounds like you have alot to celebrate and I hope it goes smoothly and beautifully.

Good for you. I don't pay your bills so who am I to tell you how to spend your money? I think some people are bitter. But I also think some are just more modest and even if they had that kind of money wouldn't spend that, and that's okay. Different strokes. We all live differently.
