How would you respond to this rudeness?

Question

I am 28 years old and 22 weekspregnant with our rainbow baby. It has been in the 90's here for a week or so. My husband and I make due without AC during the day so after a heat index over 100 yesterday I was happy that I was signed up to volunteer at my AC'ed church last night. When I walked in, though, the AC in our sanctuary was broken. Knowing if be sitting in the insane heat for two hours I decided to sit in an off with a window unit with another pregnant volunteer till I absolutely had to face the heat.

When I emerged, another volunteer told me I needed to suck it up and that the heat wasn't so bad. I tried to explain that I'm pregnant and that the heat is really hard for me right now but he told me to "quit making excuses" and that "feminist worked too hard for me to pull the baby card every second". After working a 10 hour day and with the heat, I didn't feel up to explaining that I have a degree in women's studies and am a feminist.

As far as I know, this man has no spouse or children so I try to write it off as ignorance but it bothers me terribly to be seen as lazy. What would you all do? I have to see him at church every week so I would like answers that don't involve a great deal of confrontation.

A) he's a man so he gets no say in how a pregnant woman should feel, and B) for someone working at a church, he's pretty damn rude I'd say.

I'd definitely just avoid him as much as possible. If you HAVE to be around him, I'd probably pull one of the other female volunteer leaders aside and explain how he was rude to you bc of your pregnancy and could they possibly help you limit your contact with him to avoid any further drama as he seems to be completely lacking in common sense, decency and have no internal filter.

It's hard to let such rudeness go but I'd take definite secret personal pleasure in knowing that if he ever has a preggo SO of his own, hopefully he remembers what he says and feels very very ashamed !!

I've had 2 incidents with heat stroke this summer already.  Normally it takes me 6+ hours to really overheat to the point of passing out, incident #1 I passed out on a cloudy day beside the river. Thank god for fast thinking friends who's first instincts were to put something behind my head, and make sure the belly was safe. 2nd incident, I got physically Ill from the heat.

Tell him to mind his own business unless he's willing to take over the making process for you.

Just breathe through that. If he comes up again play it off with a snarly remark.. Mind is to pat my legs /pockets down, feel around in my purse , look around ext until they're confused and then I go "oh!! I was looking for a (care) to give about your opinion. Looks like I'm all out"

You can either hit him with facts, or shrug it off. Casually mention it a time or two around him and other pregnant women. He'll be eaten alive LOL

-I'd tell that person to worry about themselves and focus on what they are at the church to do.  And I'd avoid them unless contact is necessary. I wouldn't even bother saying hi.
