Heard a popping sound during sex

My partner and I were having sex last nigh and we both hear a popping sound! We aren't sure what the hell it was! He didn't pop his penis or anything and it couldn't have been my cherry being popped! There was no bleeding and there was also no pain! Can someone please tell me what they think it could have been? (Please NO Rude Comments)
