We aren't aloud to take a bath?

I just read someone said they weren't taking baths yet after having the baby. I didn't know we weren't supposed to take baths! I've taken three already it's only been two weeks since the baby was born.

Baths are fine! There's literally the smallest risk of infection unless your bathtub is disgustingly dirty don't worry about it

They say no baths right after birth because your cervix is sill open and the dirty soapy water can get in you and cause an infection. And yes, even if you've just cleaned your bathtub, the water you are laying in is dirty, all of the dirt, Bacteria, and dead skin that was on your body is now floating in that water. It's too late now, just keep an eye out for signs of infection, abdominal pain, fever, etc.
I know it feels great to just relax in there after having a baby, but try to minimize how many baths you take until your dr checks to make sure your cervix is closed. It would be awful if you weren't able to care for your new baby because you were too sick from taking a bath. That's how I always looked at it.

I took many a baths from day one after my vagibal birth. Helped with the healing!

I had my daughter vaginally and was told to take sits baths every day (salt water baths). It helped me heal. 
I never actually washed in the bath though. I would let it drain then stand up and take a shower to wash everything.

Depends if you gave birth vaginally or via csection. I had a csection and was told no baths until cleared by doctor.

My doc made me wait till 6 weeks. It was brutal, baths are the best!

My midwife told me to stick to showers especially while my stitches are healing because the water could make them dissolve quicker and so the tear wouldn't have enough support.

I waited two weeks then starting taking baths again. My back has been a mess since my epidural & baths have helped emmensely. Go for it.
