Epidural ?

What do you guys think about the epidural ? I gave birth in 2013 to my son and I did not get it but now that I'm with baby #2 I'm considering it , because I'm so afraid of the contractions and delivery.

I had good experiences with it both my previous pregnancies. If I end up induced again this time around I will definitely get it again, if I have a labor on its own I will play it by ear but will get it if I'm in a lot of pain.

This will probably sound like a silly answer, but once your labor starts progressing and you actually feel the contractions, you will know whether or not you want/need one. I was on the fence with two of mine going in to it, decided both times to get one. Best decision for me. Best of luck!!

I was induced with both of my boys. With the first the contractions were bareable for 7-8 hours until they started hurting enough to make me squirm. I opted for the epidural bc I wanted to make sure it was working before I started pushing. The pushing was still extremely painful, but at least I couldn't feel the contractions. 
The second, this cocky nurse pushed my pitiocin way harder than she should have & my contractions were unbareable within an hour. No break in between & I was only dialated to 2 so they didn't want to order the epidural. Finally my husband made them order it & it took an hour for him to get there. The baby started coming out while the epidural needle was in my back. The contractions were as painful as the pushing & they were both torture but at least the pushing only lasted roughly 4 minutes. The non stop pitiocin contractions were 2 hours. I had no idea contractions could be so painful. 
This time around I am demanding an epidural as soon as I arrive.

I actually got it placed twice but unfortunately it didn't work for me. Numbed my right thigh but I felt everything else. I was induced so the contractions were awful, so I would get the epi again and cross my fingers should I have to be induced with the next kid. If I can go into labor on my own I think I would consider going natural.
