Who pays for your birth control?

I recently got switched to a more expensive brand of birth control and my boyfriend offered to pay for it which is very sweet of him even though I've been paying for my own this whole time and am more than willing to pay for this prescription. Just curious, who pays for your birth control or do you share the cost?
