Who else is scared of giving birth/labour pains?

I am soo frightened of the pain im going to go through whilst giving birth? Isit as bad as what people say?

I was always scared until I got pregnant and had a miscarriage. Losing something I wanted so bad made me not care how much it hurts or how long it takes. I'm pregnant again and hoping this is it!! I also remind myself that women chose to do it over again so it must be worth it...

I'm definitely one of THOSE people that didn't find it to be excruciating. I had a relatively great labor experience... definitely uncomfortable and long but so miraculous and so worth it. I look back on that evening and it still gives me butterflies. As soon as I got admitted to the hospital my adrenaline was pumping and I just felt so, so, so strong! It's an amazing experience to bring a baby into this world so focus on the beauty of meeting and snuggling that sweet, innocent, beautiful baby that's growing inside of you... and GET THE EPIDURAL!

I'm not scared of the labor pains, I'm scared of the delivery. Our vaginas are such a delicate area I can't imagine that pain 😩 it sucks too because you know it's coming, you can't avoid it, you have to do it weather you want to or not!!

It's very mental. If you go in thinking it will hurt it will be worse. Some women experience orgasm while giving birth! ( rare for sure- didn't happen with my first but hey) just go in with the most positive mindset you can. That your body knows what to do and you can do it!

I was scared in the beginning of my pregnancy. I didn't want any drugs and was going to have an all natural labor well VB because that's what I wanted, I felt that was the best option for me because I am so in tune with my body. Watched some videos and did some reading on pain management and grew more and more comfortable with the idea and reality of pushing out a child. By the time my water broke and the contractions were more than noticeable I was more than fine. I was in labor for 8 and a half hours. I slept in the beginning. I do know I asked the nurses to wait until after the contractions before checking my cervix. I was uncomfortable with the idea of them prodding me during a contraction. I loved pushing when the time came. I trusted my body to do what it was made to do and it did it without issue. I had many different ways to manage pain when it got bad just in case one technique didn't work. I belly danced. I took deep slow breaths. I slept. I talked to my husband and even though he had no idea of what I was going through I took his words of support and comfort. The day I had our daughter was magical and it was after I had her in my arms I knew that I could and would ( my pregnancy was hard and full of complications) have another. It all depends on you, how comfortable you are and you're support system. I'm not advocating natural childbirth but I am saying to do what feels right for you. If you want an epidural than by all means get one but don't fear the contractions. It'll make them worse.

Are you pregnant? I was scared at first but once I became pregnant all I can think about is getting to hold my baby and I can't say I'm very scared of labor anymore. It's a fact of life I've accepted.

I was terrified.  The contractions were very painful but after I had the epidural and some sleep I was completely numb from the waist down. I didn't feel a thing while I was pushing.  I think I was mostly afraid of getting the epidural but it felt like a regular shot.

Yeah, basically everyone is afraid of this on some level. I'm confident that I will be okay, but I know it's going to be HARD.
