Has anyone ever had a membrane swipe??

So today my Dr mentioned something about a membrane swipe to speed up the chances of going into labor soon. My Dr mentioned that it was very uncomfortable and there was   A 50/50 chance of it helping it. So my question is how many of you have got it done? Did it hurt? Did it help? I am due Aug 5th and have no symptoms of going into labor anytime soon.

I had a membrane sweep done at 38weeks 4 days (it was a Wednesday). It didn't hurt that much. I started to lose big pieces of my mucus on Thursday but still no signs of labor. So on Friday I started doing nipple stimulation cuz I heard it made the uterus contract. I literally did it for about an hour at 8:30am and it put me right into labor. I had my baby girl that day at 6:01pm.

I had it done twice. The first time I just contracted for hours and then suddenly nothing. My last appointment I was 4 cm dialed and he asked If I wanted to try again and I said yes.  Went home and holy contractions.. I bounced on my ball and had to go to the hospital. Everything was set into motion then.  I was 38.6 weeks..

My due date with my daughter was April 4th. Dr did the membrane sweep on Wed. March 26th. Water broke about 45 mins into maternity leave- 4:45 Fri. 3/28 and baby girl was here Sat. 3/29 at 6:00am.

I'm due Aug 1st. They offered to do one yesterday. I decided to wait till 40 weeks (the 1st) if he hasn't shown any signs of coming by then I will prob get it done.

I had mine done on a Wednesday at 39 weeks and labor started Thursday morning at 10am. I had my baby friday afternoon at 4:22pm. I didn't think it hurt it was just pressure and a little discomfort.

Yes... Got it done at 11am and gave birth at 7:40am the next morning....! Really got things started.... Was a little painfull... A little more painful than normal cervical chevks.... But hey its nothing compared to giving birth so it was worth it ;)

My membrane sweep didn't get me into labor and left me with awful cramping all day after it was done. I don't think I would do it again this time.

I had three with my son was really uncomfortable and didn't actually help... Ended up having emergency c section

Had it done 3 Times with my first didnt help.. He was 10 days late :))
