Inducing

I'm close to 42 weeks and have gestational diabetes(diet controlled), ftm, baby weighs over 8lbs at 40 weeks ultrasound. my doctor decided we try inducing today with pitocin. I was on pitocin for about 5 to 6 hours and I was having painful contractions but every time my cervix was checked, it's still high and I'm not dilated. My doctor stopped the pitocin and wants us to try again tomorrow morning and if by evening my cervix is still high/not dilated I'll have cesarean section.
