Your relationship

Has anyone lived with their boyfriend then gotten married. I have people always telling me that my boyfriend won't marry me because we're already living together like a married couple. He said he wants to marry me after study. The reason? Because he's an international student and if he marries they take away his scholarship and his mom said to marry after study which I think is good for both of us. Anyway I would like to know if anyone is in my boat. Did you ever live with your boyfriend for years then got married? Did you guys last?
