Need opinions from other moms about delivery?
I'll try to keep this brief. I'm 38+5 and at our growth scan our girl was estimated to be 9 pounds by birth. I know those can be wrong, but I'd much rather use extra caution instead of just guessing it's wrong.
She is still sunny side up and has been since she went head down. I am 4'10 and have a narrow pelvis. My doctor has told me numerous times now that it would be better for her to come sooner rather than later. But now that we are so close he seems to not care at all and that it's no big deal. Contrary to what he's told me for the past month +. He doesn't even care if I go overdue with her even though just one week could easily put her at 9 and a half pounds. Which is nearing very close to a high risk pregnancy automatically...not even factoring in my small hip size.
Her being sunny side up makes the difficulty even greater if she doesn't turn.
She has not dropped and I am not dilated whatsoever. So my chances for inducing are not looking good. I am guessing that because she is posterior she is having trouble engaging because of my hip size so I'm not dilating either. My mom had my sister posterior and went into labor without being dilated or her being dropped and had a long, excrutiating labor.
If you were in my shoes or have been previously... would you opt to wait until overdue? Schedule c-section if she doesn't turn in labor? Have another growth scan to check size? Try for induction?
My doctor has been absolutely useless and I'll be switching asap after our girl is born. But for now, I'm stuck. (He doesn't care that my BP is raised signficantly, won't answer any questions, doesn't listen to anything I ask or say and genuinely just seems like he doesn't give a shit.)
Thank you all for any responses!
