IUD & Bleeding ??

Question

I've been on the SKYLA IUD for 2 weeks and I've had sex .. But these past two days I've been bleeding and I've had my period this month already like in the beginning. Could something be wrong??Also could my iud be moved out of place?? Kinda worried this is my first time using this type of birth control😕

This is normal.

Irregular bleeding and spotting is very common and normal for the first 3-6 months.

If you are bleeding heavily and in extreme pain, you should see a doctor.

This sounds very normal and typical though.

I got my skyla and did not bleed until what would have been my normal period time. I was ecstatic! Except then it did not stop. I bled. And bled. and bled. And it would seem like it was finally letting up and.....I would start bleeding again. I was furious and did not want to be one of the people that ended up bleeding for 6 months. Finally after about a month and a half it let up and slowly stopped. I have yet to see a new period to know if this will start again but try not to stress....the more I was stressing the worse I would bleed! My doctor told me that if it because an ongoing issue he would also put me on the pill to help regulate my cycle :)

I have had my Skyla iud for a little over a year and I don't know if I love it or hate it! I love that I don't have to take a pill everyday and I love the super light periods. I HATE the cramps it gives me though! I am not sure it was worth the trade off. Once my three years is up I will never get it again. Plus the timing is perfect for my and fiancé (getting married 2/19/17) to start trying for a baby.

I have the Skyla IUD and my body reacted the exact same way when I got it placed. I had two periods in one month, one lasting two weeks. Then it skipped two months. It's completely normal for you to have irregular bleeding and spotting for six months after insertion, my doctor said. I was also worried about it migrating, but nothing was wrong. If you have any extreme pains, especially sharp ones accompanying the bleeding, I'd contact your doctor.

This exact same thing happened to me. Mine was working its way out. Call u Doctor so they can check its placement
