Am I not ovulating?

Question

I need some help and advice please! I am not sure I am ovulating. I've been testing with opk and still haven't gotten the positive result of the test telling me I'm ovulating. Here is some info 
• cycle is 28
• AF due Aug 10th
• testing for 8 days straight (this cycle)
• today is cycle day 18
• opk is the cheap kind (was trying to save money)
I just recently bought the clearblue advanced digital for next cycle and I am hoping that maybe next cycle I can get some clearer answers. I was hoping that maybe those tests are just not strong enough to detect the LH surge in my urine, but I'm not sure. This is the second month I tested and still never got the positive test results. I tested last cycle for 5 days straight before I just stopped. Both cycles according to the rule of the kits it said day 10 is the day to start testing since I have a 28 day cycle. Prior to all this I was on birth control for about 10-11 years. I've been off the pill for 4 months. As far as I know I'm healthy and don't have any medical conditions that would hinder me from getting pregnant or even ovulating. I am hoping maybe I'm just a late ovulater, but I only have 10 days left before AF is due. I've just recently started checking my cervical position and cervical mucus to help be an aid. I plan on getting a basal thermometer to track that as well. I found one on Amazon that I plan on purchasing today. Any and all advice, suggestions, and help is greatly appreciated! I'm trying not to get sad or stressed, but it's hard to have a baby of your not ovulating 😔

I bought dollar tree opks bc I wanted to save money, started testing early only a few days after af ended. Tested twice a day bc I've read it's good to do that so you don't miss your surge. Well, I tested and tested and started getting more and more anxious as the days passed. It was scary bc I was thinking exactly what you said that its kind of hard to have a baby when you aren't ovulating. I was losing my mind, glow was saying I should be ovulating on a certain day but opk was saying nope not the case, so I had that thought... Maybe it's bc I went cheap and got the dollar store tests, maybe they aren't sensitive enough. So. I went out and bought clear blue advanced opks digital and started testing... Still got nothing... This continued until cycle day 17 around 2 pm in the afternoon. I got my positive opk, I had just tested the night before around 1030pm and gotten a negative so as you can see in just that short window things changed completely. I think that's why they say twice a day is better to test. I couldn't believe it, thought it was a faulty test or something so I also did a test with one of the dollar store ones and guess what? Same exact result! Positive opk! So, don't worry about using the cheap tests, maybe buy more of them. The digital tests are easier to use and read but they are very pricey, unless you find a sale. You might just be missing your window. Start testing earlier, maybe you ovulate early and don't know it, or later. Same thing happened to me. I tested with clearblue for one month and didnt get the positive surge. As it was expensive I didn't want to spend my money on that anymore. I suggest a combination of everything. Basal temp, opk, CM and then compare all the info you get from it.
