Never trust your family. That's what I've learned.

So I've learned my lesson. Don't believe the bullshit your parents tell you. Most of the time it's a lie.

We are moving in 3 weeks and my parents not only inherited money from a relative who passed but with this move they have an excessive amounts of profit from the sale of the house!

My parents both said they wanted me in a new vehicle that would be safer especially for the winters since my commute is going from 10 minutes to 1 hour with the move. They said we will help you with the down payment and they said if I needed a cosigner they would help me with that too. I was like great this is perfect!

Did my research found a perfect car that I can afford that is safe all that. I've spent the past 3 days at the dealership. They offered me an amazing deal they let me test drive the car for a whole day, I did the financing and credit application yesterday morning. Everything seemed to be good right?!

The financial guy from the dealership gave me a call and said the only thing is you're going to need a cosigner. I was approved but they just wanted a cosigner. I was like ok no problem.

I told my mom and she was like you know I always felt that you getting a car would be too expensive. Then she said I don't want to cosign for a $30,000 vehicle that I can't drive. Then she's like what if I want a new car? I can't be tied to yours. Then she shrugged and walked away.

I'm so upset. She wouldn't have to pay a dime. (I asked the dealership for no downpayment and they agreed)

That was the only thing I needed. And she shot me down after saying they'd help me out. So now I have to turn around and say I don't have a cosigner. I'm so disappointed. I really wanted something safer, something that was mine something to build my credit with. And my mom lied to me.

And this isn't the first time she's lied but it's been the first eye opening experience for me.

How would you feel if you were in my shoes?

**EDIT!

I did discuss a price with both of my parents and they told me that it could not exceed $50,000. So in my opinion $30,000 is well below what we discussed! Also! It's a BRAND NEW car. The whole point of the convo was price and a fresh amount of miles with a brand new bumper to bumper warranty! Used is NOT an option becauee you pay more in interest for a used car then you do a new one. A used car would have around 6% interest. This new one qualified for 0%. Also, my Dad already had his car and my mom's car under his name solely! So I didn't think it was right to ask him! Under his name he has a 2013 Ford Flex and a 2014 Chevrolet Suburban. I wasn't about to ask him to cosign with those vehicles already in his name!***
