I love hearing proposal stories. Tell me all about how you got engaged.

When I got engaged I was about 4 months pregnant with our son, and we were in the city for the long weekend in February. It happened that the Friday was valentine's day. Saturday we went out for a nice romantic dinner at a fancy resturant for valentine's day, or so I thought.

We were having a nice dinner with live jazz band playing while we were in the revolving resturant. In conversation I remember telling him that "everyone probably expects us to get engaged because we were having a baby, but I don't expect it and I don't care what people think, if we're engaged or not".

Then once we finished our meals and dessert was on its way we made it one full revolution in the resturant and we're right in front of the band. My SO says to me "look we stopped!!" And me oblivious to it all said "Yeah, it probaby stops all the time" (meanwhile it NEVER stops, he just asked them to stop it for us so we were in front of the band) and then he says something about no I stopped it and I tuned and he was on his knee with the ring. I obviously balled my eyes out, but would have even if I wasn't pregnant at the time.

Everyone cheered and people ended up giving us mo eyes later on. And we danced while the band played my favourite song, that he told them to play. Best night ever.

And later I found out he brought the ring to Mexico with us two month earlier at Christmas and brought it back to Canada to propose later... but that's another long story....
