still can't hold head up while laying face down?

Question

my daughter is 7 1/2 weeks and still can't hold her head up while laying face down.. we only do tummy time occasionally, should I start it more? she'll be two months old next Wednesday and I'm worried she's falling behind developmentally.. she just HATES tummy time and I hate letting her cry 😢

My babe holds her head up so well when I hold her on my chest but the lazy bones just goes to sleep when I lay her on a blanket! Lol

Tummy time is very important and unfortunately, it isn't always welcomed by our little ones. To get them used to it try doing it on your chest for a while. Also, when they are on their mat, try rolling up another blanket to put under their armpit. You can also get on the ground with them and encourage them to turn their head to look at you. 
On my husband's chest is her at 4 weeks and on the floor is 5 weeks (blanket should be rolled more and under her chest).

Our doula said that when babies don't like tummy time, they usually work their muscles even harder bc they're lifting their head in rage to scream, so we let LO cry through it when she's in a bad mood but just shorten it a bit if she gets really upset  😬

I would just try to get her to do it as much as she can tolerate. If it's the same by 3 months old, that's when I'd worry. It is very hard for babies to build their neck muscles so I wouldn't worry for now!

My Dr suggested we do tummy time twice a day for about 10-15 mins each time. He also said that the baby will not enjoy it and will cry but will eventually learn to like it.
