Inducing early

Why are people so against me being induced at 39 weeks? It's full term, the doctor suggested it. My husband and I both agree that were ok with it. My mom is strongly against it and customers at work look down at me and lecture me on it though. My boss already forced me on maternity leave and i dont want to waste it anyways. They should be happy that the baby and I are healthy enough where the doctor feels confident to do it. I just don't understand.
