My husband and I decided to take a trip to Texas due to a family emergency

My husband and I decided to take a trip to Texas due to a family emergency. Everything was going fine! Other than the heat I was handling the trip well. Last night we decided it was time to leave! We drive 7 hours and I start to notice a few contractions. I was able to manage them fairly well by changing positions and cuddling with a pillow. We get into Illinois and they become much more consistent and the pain increased. I told my husband that I didn't think the baby was going to make the trip home! We pulled into a rest stop, south of Chicago, and I notice something is starting to bulge out of my cervix!! We drive to the nearest hospital and the doctor checks me and told us I was 9 cm dilated! He broke my water and within 30 mins of arriving at the hospital my baby boy was born! 8 weeks early but doing very well!!!  Looking at 3 weeks in the nicu here in Illinois and then we'll finally be able to go home to Michigan!! I can't wait!
