My labor story! It's a long one

Sunday morning hubby always lets me sleep in! Measuring in at 38 weeks and 1 day and after a full 8 hours of sleep I woke up at around 9:15am still so tired. I got up and he made me breakfast, and had half of a decaf iced coffee. I hung around the house for a little while and then decided to jump in the shower. After a nice cool shower I felt so tired I decided it was best to lay a towel down and just take a nap. At around 2:15pm I woke up, still groggy and decided we should go outside and sit with the family for the afternoon by the pool. I've been having back labor for the last few weeks and today was no different. Mom, sis, and hubs made a nice dinner around 6:00pm and we ate. All afternoon I was having back pains, timing them as they got a little closer together but nothing I couldn't handle. I bribed hubby into getting me an ice cream Sundae from the ice cream shop down the road, no sooner did he leave the driveway and WAM! It was like someone shot me from the inside with a rubber band. I ran to the bathroom and tried to go, but couldn't pee to save my life. The pain started, and by the time I got outside i was gushing water like you wouldn't believe. Puddles and puddles were collecting as I called the doctors office. This was at about 7:11pm. After almost an hour of trying to wait for a call back we decided it was best to drive to the hospital. I got there and the contractions were closer and closer together by the minute. They checked me and I was already 5cm dilated! Contractions were 5-7 minutes apart. The sent me up to labor and delivery for my epidural they administered it around 9:15, which is a god send and took my back labor pains away I might add! After the epidural the contractions became 2-3 minutes apart but I was very comfortable. We all rested for a few hours the dr. suggested taking a nice nap. The nurse came in around 2am and said I was 10cm and that was almost time!! At around 4:00 we decided it was time to push! With hubby at my side and my mom cheering me on knew I had to keep on pushing! At 6:14am we met the love of our lives, we couldn't have asked for a sweeter boy!
