Double Stroller Necessary?

I'd love to hear from 3+ time mommies. We currently have an 11m old, who will be 1.5yrs old when our new baby is due. I'm debating this double stroller thing (leaning more towards getting 1). Curious about anyone's experience with 2 kiddos about this close & their use (or non-use) of a double stroller?

I always liked to have a basic stroller and just use a moby wrap for the baby. The little strollers are easier to take in your car every where. I always have my little one in my trunk. You can't do that with the big strollers, they take up the whole trunk.

So we bought a double stroller with #2 and never used it and hated it. 1) I did & still do a lot of baby wearing and 2) the stroller was huge and impossible to navigate. I couldn't have used it in a store because if I needed to turn I would have to make a super wide turn. It also made my arms very sore when using.  We had a sit and stand. With that being said with baby #3 on the way we are looking into getting a double jogging stroller. The ones we have tried are so much easier to maneuver although wider then the sit and stand.

I had a double stroller (front and back, not side by side) when my first two were little. Their are 15 months apart, I loved it! We have a smaller car at the time (Neon) and I could get it folded and put in the trunk pretty easy!

Following bc I want to know, as well. My son will be almost 3 when baby #2 arrives. Looking at true tandem doubles vs sit and stand option. Any opinions?

I love my double stroller!!! We had a single stroller until my baby was 9 months, my other daughter is 2, and trying to chase the 2 year old around was crazy. Definitely a good investment.
