Period on the pill

So on my birth control pill, ice been on it forever without slip ups except a few hours difference, like 3 hours max. Obviously I'm protected during the off week but I'm still sketched out by it, I had sex today quite a bit and I start my first inactive pill tonight. No worries right? Just feels weird not taking an active pill after sex.
