What type of classes did you take?

What type of classes did you ladies take while you were pregnant and would you recommend them? I signed up for a breastfeeding class next month and I was just wondering if any others would be helpful.

I was told if going natural they recommend going to child birth classes to learn how to control breathing and how dad can help calming.

We tried to take a 6 week child birthing class but the instructor was a hateful older woman who kept saying insulting things about men and their ignorance about child birth, disinterest in changing diapers, and other disparaging stereotypes about men as fathers. She also made rude, shaming comments about pregnant women taking medications aside from Tums and spoke non-stop about her five children. She also told us to drink a few glasses of wine and get in the hot tub if we run overdue in our delivery!!! I could go on and on about how awful this experience was.  Needless to say my SO and i left before the end of class and I was sure to speak with the program coordinator and her supervisor the next day. Turns out we weren't the first to complain, as she's been spreading her bias against men for nearly 10 years in these education classes. I really had to decide whether or not to file a complaint bc this "teacher" is also one of the labor and delivery nurses at the hospital where I'll be giving birth!! It was just too upsetting not to stand up for my So and all the other parents negatively effected by this uninformed woman. Anyways hope you have a better experience!!!
