Tube ligation

Is there anyone here who has had their tubes tied? If so, has anything g been different with your periods or anything since getting it done? Asking because I have had mines done when I had son 2 years ago & for 2 years I have had really bad periods. I get blood clots the sizes of lemons sometimes bigger, & always in pain from the cramping, in my stomach & back. My ob told me she's seen it in quiet a bit of women who have had it done & she's not sure why it causes that but she's recommending that I be put on a hormone pill to help level tho ha out or be put on a birth control pill to help lighten the periods. So if ANYONE has had this can you explain.
