Boy problems

I am in year 9 and I really like this guy that is in year 10. At the start of the year we just met and he would call out my name and try to get my attention. Apparently he liked me for a while and I liked him. But then he said he doesn't want to date me because he isn't the dating kind of guy. It has been at least months and we have kinda grown apart. We do say hi to each other though. I really like him still. Should I tell him how I feel? Or should I let him go? X
