How long did it take for you & your SO to say the "L" word

My bf & I have been dating for almost 2 years & still don't say it to one another. We haven't really ever talked about it but I remember him saying that his dad has never told his sister or him that he loved them... I know that we love each other we just don't say it & I don't know how to bring it up without making it weird.
