D&C??

Question

I'm having a D&C done on Monday & I am so terrified. Can anyone else tell about their experience? We lost our baby at 8 weeks :(

I had a d/c and it's not that bad the procedure happens while you're passed out so you don't feel a thing. They also give you pain meds which honestly aren't super nessecarry because I don't really remember being in a lot of pain just a little uncomfortable and crampy. The bleeding also stopped within the week. We waited a week to have sex and then literally the DAY we had sex I got pregnant. It wasn't expected. I honestly thought it would be harder because my uterus was cleans out basically but little did I know you are most fertile after being pregnant. So I would say if you wanna try again it's worth a shot trying after you heal up(:

Oh - take the drugs they give you!!!! And eat tons of iron rich foods and continue taking your prenatals if you can bear it. They really do help!!

My so sorry for your loss. For mine I chose to have general anesthesia just because I didn't want to remember anything about the procedure. When I woke up I lost it crying Uncontrollably and had some cramping, they gave me pain pills to take while I was there and then I only took ibuprofen when I was home for the rest of the day.  It was very tough. After an hour or so I was able to urinate and then I could go home. I didnt have a whole lot of bleeding and cramping once I got home. It was more of emotional. I'm about 11 month out now if there was one thing I learned at first it was to be patient with myself. Let yourself grieve. You don't need to be strong for anyone. I would put on my "people" suit and go to work everyday then sit around and be sad and that's okay because that was what I needed. I also joined an online support group which helped me alot. Had mine 4 days ago. 8 weeks as well. Its day 4 and I've stopped bleeding for now but having really bad cramps and finding it hard to go to the toilet. I had endo and I am feeling a lot of endo pain. Drugs and heat pack are amazing.

My period started back up about 6 weeks after surgery. I cramped a little for 2-3 days and then I was okay. I had to have it done twice because it wasn't done correctly and I began to get an infection.

I've had 2 done. Felt small amount of cramping I refused the Vicodin. Bleed for about 2-3 days only and it was just spotting. 
Felt normal after the bleeding stopped.

I am so sorry for your loss. If you can- tell close family and friends/ they saved me from my mild insanity during an absolutely awful time.

Physically- It's very quick. Or was for me. Afterwards (same day) I felt absolutely fine. But about 2 or 3 days after that physically my throat hurt and you do bleed still.

You will heal and you will breathe again. Give yourself time and grieve. If you ever need someone to vent to you've got a huge community backing you here.
