Early miscarriage??

I am wondering if any ladies might have an idea what it could be. I've had bad cramp like pains for about 4 hours now, my period was a day late and it has always been like clockwork, never late before, but it was a weird discharge, and when I went to put a new one in, there was this weird looking clump that was about 3" long. I went for my first Pap test 2 1/2 weeks ago and my doctor never called me to tell me any news. I've also has this weird smell from that area too. Do any ladies have any ide what this could be??
