Feeding baby too often?

My daughter is about to turn 3 months old, and she drinks 4 oz. of formula every 2.5 hours. Everything I read says by this point baby should eat every 3-4 hours, but she can't make it past 2.5. Am I feeding her too often? When I was breastfeeding I didn't have to worry about this, but since I was put on meds when baby was 3 weeks old, unfortunately I haven't been able to. Also, how do I know when to begin giving her more formula? If she's still fussy after feedings?

I guess I should also add that my daughters last bottle is usually between 11:30 PM - 1:00 AM , and she doesn't eat again until around 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM. I give her a little extra during those feedings since they're long stretches without eating.

By the third month she should be able to drink more at each feeding, this will help her to take longer stretches between feedings. Mine is also 3 months old and she drinks 5 bottles of 6oz each. Maybe you can try increasing the amount you give her?

Keep in mind that babies haven't read those stats. :) Every one is a little different. They develop at different rates. Statistics like that are averages, not saying there's something wrong with your baby if she doesn't quite match up at this stage. Seriously, don't fret if your baby is half an hour off from average! If she's gaining weight appropriately and your pediatrician is happy, then it doesn't matter. Feed her when she's hungry.

Mine is doing about the same and the pediatrician didn't seem concerned :)

I also reccomend the paci, sometimes he just wants to suck. Since mine is doing longer stretches at night I think he makes up for it during the day.

My sons the exact same. 2.5 is great if we can make it but he usually freaks out before then

My girls' pediatrician said its never to early to start rice cereal in their bottles. Their little tummies aren't big enough to hold all the formula. We do 4oz of formula and 2 tbsp on rice cereal. They are eating about every 3-4 hours. They are 11 weeks.

My daughter is the same. We tried increasing the amoumt but she won't take more than 4 oz...She is on Enfamil AR which has rice starch in it...i think it fills her up quickly. So we are 4oz every 2.5 hours.

My baby is almost 3 months old, she's formula fed and she's been eating 5 oz every 3-4 hrs for a couple weeks now. Try increasing how much she's eating at one sitting, and see how her belly takes it. Could be that she's not getting a full belly, thus getting hungry quicker.
But it could also just be the way she is, my mom says with me I never grew out of 5 oz bottles. And I would eat every 2 hours, even after I was supposed to "out grow it".

My daughters the same I think your daughter is hitting the growth spur. My daughter was born in May on the 10 she's the same way. She acts likes she starving, try giver your baby a pacifier that's what I have to do sometimes

Try giving a larger bottle. If they don't spit up after then they can handle more volume and will last longer in between.
