Is this labor??!!

Question

Having very sharp shooting pains right where baby's head is every couple minutes, like lightening x 5 and makes me gasp every time. I'm 38 weeks and 4 days. No contractions and baby's moving a lot. Is this labor or should I just lay down and relax??

I'd lay down, could be baby dropping more or situating themselves. Try and relax and breathe through it. If it doesn't stop in another hour or so consider calling your doc, but in my experience these feelings go away after not too long

I recommend calling labor and delivery and ask, I have had this for the last 3 days, tomorrow I will be 40 wks 3 days, I was in some pretty good pain ( cramping) we went to hospital and they sent us home, I was " contracting" every 2 - 3 minutes but not strong enough to change my cervix.

Sounds more like lightening crotch. When the baby moves they can hit a nerve down there causing a sharp shooting pain.
