Do hair extensions set off metal detectors in the airport?

Hi everyone! I'm off on holiday in a couple of weeks and I'm wanting to wear my clip in hair extensions the day I fly (we always make a day of it) and I was wondering whether they'd set the metal detectors off when I go through security? And would I have to take them out?

Answer

No they don't (: I've traveled at least ten times with them in. They usually just see that you have metal in your head on their screen and they just feel your hair and then you're good to go. But the actual metal detector won't go off.
