pregnancy and marching band ?

I'm a few weeks pregnant and I'm in high school marching band too. for the past two days I've been having really bad morning sickness. I threw up today twice. and I'm outside in the sun for about 4 hours. I play the baritone (about 25-30 pounds). by the time marching band ends I'll be 3 months pregnant... has anybody else been pregnant and in marching band? or is it a good idea to stay?

being active is good for you, but let your section leader know and your teacher. when I was in marching band my teacher was really hard on us, and if you just got pregnant not too long ago, you're gonna be nauseous. I'd say do what you can, you know your limits, don't over work yourself. happy marching season girl 💝

It sounds like it can/will add a lot of stress onto you. And trying to march with a belly and carrying a Barry sounds like it'll be difficult.

I actually had a friend who played the tuba and did marching band while she was pregnant. Her little girl is about 6 now and perfectly healthy. It's doable but it is very hard. The key is being open with your band director and your friends in band so you have all the support possible and staying hydrated! Good luck! I hope you guys have a great season!

You'll be okay. Just tell them that you're pregnant. And you want to do band still and just make sure you don't over do it. 😊. I was in band while I was pregnant but I played to flute. Just pay close attention to you and your little one. Stay hydrated at ball games and stuff. I always had a snack and water close by me so I didn't to leave to the ball game.

i am pregnant and in marching band it is hard but you can do it im now 8 months pregnant and still marching i have 2 weeks left it doesnt hurt the baby

What kind of baritone are you playing that weighs that much? Anyway physical activity is actually good for you at least while you can still handle it so I don't think you should quit. I would make sure your section leaders and directors know though and I would make sure you pay attention to your body. If at Any point you think something is wrong you need to listen to it and get help. Remember to stay hydrated. It's really important in general for marching season but if you're throwing up you're gonna have to compensate for the water you're losing.
