Breastfeeding mamas, how long for your period to return?

Hi for those who have breastfed with previous babies, how long did it take for your period to return so you could try to conceive again? I have read it can take up to 12 months if you breastfeed versus sooner after birth doing formula...we are hoping to conceive a year year half after this one is born (God willing of course) so just curious on your fertility returning while exclusively breastfeeding. Thanks so much

I got my period at 3 months postpartum and got pregnant at 5 months postpartum. All while breastfeeding exclusively.

6 months while exclusively breastfeeding and still getting up multiple times throughout the night. Got pregnant again at 9 months, still exclusively breastfeeding but had started table foods as well.

I'm at 11 months pp, haven't breast fed in the 1-6 range since 8 months pp, breast feed about 4 times/day, and still haven't gotten it.

Mine returned a little after a year when I finally stopped nursing my son at night or rather very early morning. It does depend on the person but something that can also help keep your period away is if you breastfeed between 1-6 AM and don't go without breastfeeding more then every 4 hours.

I breastfed for 12 months and got my period at 7 months post partum.

My friend breastfed for two years and got her period only once she stopped nursing.

Stopped nursing at 16 months in October. Had my period by November 1st.

I got pregnant right away. Had a miscarriage in Jan. And now 19 weeks with #2

After my last drop of breast milk it took about a month,but everyone is different i was only feeding once a day at that point so it was a easy stop,my doc also said my husband and i were very fertile to thats also why my body jumped back into to the monthly cycle.
