Should children be paid for chores?

I don't mean doing things like cleaning their bedroom, bringing their dirty clothes to the laundry room, or cleaning up messes they make.

But for things like vaccuming/dusting the living room, cleaning the kitchen or other rooms used by the entire family, doing laundry?
