Ultrasound measuring behind, can I catch-up!?

Question

Just had an early ultrasound (UK so had to go private & paid £79). Should be 8 weeks 6 days but measured 7 weeks 6 days, really strong heartbeat so all fine but I feel so cheated being pushed back - I've really been suffering with exhaustion & sickness I just want the first trimester over with & to get to the magic 12 weeks. Anyone measure behind & manage to 'catch-up'? Xxx

Both of my previous pregnancys I always measured two weeks behind, due dates are always a little off and I wouldn't worry about it too much

Due dates are only estimates, the baby will come when they are ready, even at 42 weeks+ as long as everything is checked to be ok, induction isn't always necessary.

My 3rd and 4th always measured 6 days behind and no they didn't catch up to my lmp due date. So I feel your pain of knowing the dreaded first trimester is going to be even longer. Just take a breath and know you'll get through this even though now it feels like it'll be forever. I was expecting this one to measure behind so I was prepared for what felt like a longer pregnancy with the other 2 but thankfully this one is measuring right in target. What happens is they take an average of when women ovulate and say most women ovulate this many days after their period so this is how we will judge it going off lmp but not everyone ovulates in that time frame so some measure "behind" but you aren't really behind, although it feels like it lol.

Don't worry about it. #1's head always measured a week ahead of his body. I thought something was wrong but my OB said as my husband has a rather large head, he probably takes after him and that the numbers are only estimates. They're human beings too so they come small, big, short, tall, heavy and light.. Etc
