After a long TTC journey, we have finally booked in an <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">ivf</a> cycle for September 16th. Nobody in the family knew we were trying for a baby and I wanted it to be a surprise when we did get pregnant. Now that it had come to <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">ivf</a> I was considering telling my mum so that I have some support if I need it during the cycle - but I also really wanted it to be a surprise. I was listing pros and cons in my head and was just undecided.

Until mum had a heart attack on Monday.

I decided to spend the day with her in hospital so she wasn't so bored. After speaking with the husband we agreed I should tell her so that she has something new and exciting to think about. She was over the moon and it has kept her distracted all week (through another 2 heart attacks, angiogram and final diagnosis of Wellens Syndrome- she's home now and recovering thank god!)

It was only fair then to tell my husbands parents too who were supportive as well. We made it clear that it was to be kept to themselves and not talked about as we don't want others to know.

We went over to the in-laws last night and were sitting and watching tv with hubbys 2 younger brothers (19 & 23) and the MIL goes "I know you won't mind that I told Lisa about your big thing next month. She's family and its family news"

Both brothers look at them and us and my husband goes "well no, its not really a family thing. More a parents only thing"

I nearly died on the spot. Lisa is her estranged sister who I have seen maybe 3 times in the 7 years that I have been with the husband.

We live in a small town where news travels fast. At this point I might as well shout it from the rooftops.

We came home and I just went to bed I was so hurt. What business of hers is it that my ovaries will swell and I'll have needles going in and out of my hoo-ha???

So my question ladies (sorry it was so long),

Would you be upset?

If anyone has any advice, please feel free to leave it because I dont know what I'm going to say next time I see her.
