Boyfriend help

My boyfriend always tells me that he wishes he was more attractive. To me he's so perfectly amazing and i fell in love with him the way he is and i tell him exactly that but i feel like he doesn't believe me or ignores me when i tell him so and says let change the topic and drops it completely. I know he got hurt in his past because of the same reasons and i would never hurt him.
