breasts always feel full?!

Question

I've been exclusively nursing my LO for 2 weeks and having normal ups and downs of a FTM breastfeeding. I know my milk is in and she's eating bc she is gaining weight like a champ...but my breasts always feel so full. The more I read about BF there's always mention of feeling empty or lighter...I never feel that way- am j doing something wrong?

It takes quite a while for breastfeeding to become stabilized. Right now your body and your baby are trying to even out- your body is trying to figure out the right amount to produce. I'm at six weeks and I'm just now starting to notice that the full feeling I got (at the two hour mark part feedings) has gone away. If you feel too full you can pump to relieve it or hand express. Never too easy to start storing milk if you're an over producer!

I felt constantly full until my LO was roughly 4-5 weeks old. Then all of the sudden they just like deflated one day but my supply was still up, my LC said that my breasts just regulated what LO was taking. Hang in there! 👍🏻
