Siblings during birth???.

Question

I would really like my two daughters to be a part of the birth of their baby sister. Do you ladies think that child birth is too much for a 8 year old and a 4 year old? I've seen a lot of siblings participate in home births and think it's a great way for them to bond.

I was only 10 when I watched my mum birth my brother, it was the most intense but amazing and beautiful experience of my life! I'm glad my mum gave me that opportunity :)

My kids will be present at the birth of their baby sis any day now! 8 & 3yrs old. My 3yr old is super excited and like my little doula, she holds my hand and everything when I'm hurting from too much activity! My 8yr old is cautious and may walk out and that's okay too! But she will definitely have the option to be there ;) We all watch birth videos so they know exactly what to expect.

It's really up to you. I wouldn't have my children in the room. Too much blood and nasty stuff I wouldn't want them to see. It may scare then especially the 4 yr old. I'd be okay with then in there when I was in labor and after I'm cleaned up right after baby is born. Not while im pushing though. Your choice though because it's your children.
