Umbilical cord low

So ladies, my doctor told me that the umbilical cord is attached at the bottom of the placenta instead of the middle, I am worried to be honest even though she said not to and we will keep an eye on it by having more ultrasounds. According to my dr the baby could be too small and we need to get him out earlier. I want to hear if any of you went through this and what happened and how you dealt with it.
