Progesterone

Is it out of the ordinary if I call my doctor to check my progesterone level along with my hcg? I'm five weeks today and my last pregnancy(only one besides this one) ended in miscarriage at 6 weeks and the doctor can't get me in until early October; so naturally I'm a little worried.
