Not too worried buuuttt

Okay so I'll be 35 weeks on Tuesday which is when my next dr appointment is. I think I lost a bit of my mucus plug the other day there was a small white chunk in the toilet not sure it was the mucus plug or not and I haven't seen anything else since, but I have been getting these pains like in my pubic area on the left side and center mainly they have become more frequent. It used to be when I walked a lot now they are just random but only hurt when I try to step. It's not all the time but it doesn't seem to have a consistency. I am a FTM so I don't know what contractions or anything feels like. Should I be concerned? Is it a normal thing to have these pains? I would assume so since it seems like that's what my dr tells me every time I go lol thanks!
