Lower back pain: period cramping??

FTM and my lower back hurts so bad. I'm 38+4 and since I've never had a baby, I'm not sure what to expect. Just wondering if this is normal and if I should keep an eye on it. I go to the doctor this afternoon so I will definitely mention it to her.  What does back labor feel like?? Thanks in Advance!

I'm 39 weeks today and have been getting lower back and hip pain and period pain type cramps when in bed on a night for about a week now. Apparently it's your body getting ready for contractions (according to a midwife friend of mine) and it could be a mild form of Braxton Hicks

Before my water broke with my first one I had really bad lower back pain and cramping. When in labor push like your having a bowel movement, I didn't know that so my labor was 30 hours. Good luck
