PSA: Stop being an ass
If you are looking for an acceptable response when parents to be announce the gender of their baby, DO NOT say the following:
"Oh, well you can try again with the next one."
"I bet your husband/wife is disappointed"
"Really? Another boy/girl?"
"Well maybe your sister can give me a granddaughter/grandson"
"You don't seem like a boy mom/girl mom to me"
If you say any of the above, you are an ass and should be ashamed of yourself. Even if you say it jokingly or in good humor, it's hurtful to the parents to be, who only want you to smile, say congratulations and share in their joy.
So please think next time you open your mouth.
