Am I becoming a bridezilla before we're even engaged?

My boyfriend ordered my engagement ring yesterday. I don't know which one he picked, and he won't have it for 2 more weeks because it's getting resized. He still wants to propose so we aren't technically engaged yet. Anyway, I've been looking up wedding stuff and in my mind I already have a date set, honeymoon decided on, wedding party decided on, where I'm getting my hair done at decided, etc. I don't know if this is just my personality type (I have to process things as soon as possible), or if I'm just going a little crazy. I've been waiting for this for so long I'm just really excited. 😩 Is this bad? If it is, how on earth do I just slow down and enjoy it? :(

I think most women start thinking about this stuff before they're even really engaged. That's why almost every girl I know has a wedding Pinterest board lol

Planning doesn't make you a bridzilla. Refusing input from those fronting the cost or even your fiancé wouldn't help. Forgetting that this isn't just all about you and throwing a tantrum would make you a bridzilla. Remember that it's about the marriage, not the wedding. The wedding is just a great party to celebrate. Keep your head on straight.

Knowing what you want or having a vision for your big day is in no way being a bridezilla. What would make you a bridezilla is your attitude when things don't go the way you planned.  Breath planning a wedding is hard but you got this! Congrats!

Ur not being a bridezilla u are just excited about the wedding and ur future together, totally normal: I just got married on 9th June this year and my advice is just enjoy it, relish in the planning and plan together it's fun

No way. You need to plan everything way in advanced. There's certain months that everything is booked years in advanced so you gotta start making decisions like right after you get engaged if you are getting married less than a year later. I had my dress picked and venue picked a little over a moth after we were engaged and we got married 11 moths after our engagement. You definitely need to give yourself enough time to do everything or you will become very stressed and overwhelmed so the sooner you get things done the more fun you can have and relax. Now things like invitations and seat charting(if you want to do that) and napkins and cake and such can be done closer to do the date. Like 4 moths out from the wedding. I hope that you have fun planning everything because I wish I could've had more control over my plans and stuff.  Which is another thing, don't let anyone convince you to do something you don't want at your wedding. It's is yours and your future husband's day! No one else's! Remember that but also remember to do keep the guests in mind when planning certain things. Okay sorry about the whole long rant! Not at all! Planning doesn't make you a bridezilla, it just means you're excited! You'd be a bridezilla if your fiancé wants some part of the planning and you tell him no and that you already have everything picked out haha.. As long as you show him stuff and he's included then you're fine!

I said kinda because if you did NOT think you were being a Bridezilla, maybe you wouldn't have asked the question.

However it's totally normal to start planning.... I was not excited about planning, but I had to... because I was the only one who gets weekdays off sometimes to get appointments, etc. and I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a planner.

My advice is make sure to involve him in some of the choices like his tux or groomsmen and the venue, food, drinks so that he feels special and helpful too!! It's his day as well. :)

My other advice is sometimes venues don't go as planned. I'm hella not picky but I had to move my venue twice because the first one was too small as our guests grew, and the second one was not up to safety codes then she sells it to a florist a month before my wedding!! Lol. So - expect to be okay with some changes. Also I didn't think I wanted a train or veil and I picked those. I hated Navy as a color for him but he picked it and it actually looked the best. Be open minded. :)

Nah. It's exciting looking at things for your big day. Especially if a wedding has always been something you've wanted. Pinterest is the worst/best thing for your bridezilla indulgence. So many awesome ideas - been pinning them for years.
I recently found a place in our local area that I just think would be terrific for a wedding reception. And I've almost called them twice to ask about pricing - I'm not even engaged yet! Haha
Maybe you're being a bit of a bridezilla, but so what? I could think of worse habits to have. You could be a drug addict... Lol

Girl, these days you have to plan weddings so far in advance to get everything you want. I think it's great you're jumping right into it. Before my husband and I got engaged, I already had the date picked, the church booked, and my photographer booked. I started planning probably about a year in advance. We officially got engaged in November and we got hitched the following August. If anyone tells you you're jumping the gun, just don't pay them any mind.

One thing I learned is to expect the unexpected.  Something will go not according to plan and be prepared to accept that because you can't control everything.  Try to go with the flow and when something goes wrong just move on and enjoy your day.  Good luck!
