Ovulation without an egg release!?

Question

Hey guys so apperantly I have ovulated, am ovulating or im going to ovulate according to the picture below.

​ Is it possible to ovulate without the release of an egg?

​ I was diagnosed with PCOS last year. The DH and I have been TTC for about a year now with no success. 
​ 
​here is a quick picture of some OPKS I did ten minutes ago. What do you guys think ? Is anyone one the same boat here?

I found out this week that I have a weak ovulation but I had the increased BBT and the definite positive OPK but my blood test said my progesterone levels were super low to where I barely ovulated yet if had a period every month give or take a few...so I'm not sure what my body is doing/thinking : /

And just to clarify the positive test indicates that you should ovulate within about 24 hours or so. You have to look for other signs such as fertile CM and an increase in bbt to know if you've ovulated for sure.

Ovulation takes place when a mature egg, or ovum, is released from the ovary. If an egg isn't released you a.) haven't ovulated or b.) you have a blockage that's preventing the egg from entering the Fallopian tube to be fertilized.
